Want Bacon Scented Everything?
Bacon-scented everything is popping up everywhere. Here’s the problem, most of the time it ends up smelling like that gym sock you forgot at the bottom of your locker all year long. No, seriously. And imagine with the bacon candle that you now will be adding a burnt smell to it. I haven’t found a bacon-scented product yet that has actually smells good. I’m open to the search but for now I am not been pleased. I do still believe that these products make great gag gifts though. So if you still want your home, car, and self to smell like what is claimed to be “bacon-scent” OR if you are looking for a funny gift…..please, check out what I have found:

Product Review: Bacon Flavored Toothpicks
Time for another product review of a bacon-inspired product.. This time it’s Bacon Flavored Toothpicks by Accoutrements.
Let me begin by thanking our very cool friend Charlie for purchasing the toothpicks for us (Ric and I). He’s definately one of our biggest bacon supporters.
I also want to make sure to note that I think Accoutrements is an awesome company and is one of the best places to find novelty gifts. But that’s some of the problem with this review….
The bacon toothpicks are simply a novelty gift. As a novelty gift, it’s GREAT! The tin that it comes in is cute with it’s pig in a top hat, complete with his monocle on and toothpick in mouth.
But if you try and look at this product as a serious use in your day to day, then you may just puke on yourself each time you try to place this thing near your mouth. Ric said it best when I tried to get his reaction to the scent by putting it up to his nose. He said (joking of course), “Put that thing in my face again and I will punch you.” I felt the same way myself. There’s something about this fake bacon scent that people use in their products that turns my stomach. It’s a combination of puke and smelly socks in a smoker.
To make things worse… when I took it out to test on the cats, I realized the smell was now on my hand. I washed my hands but the smell did not come off. I actually poured perfume in my hand and then washed them throughly. That did the trick.
Oh, the cats reaction? They gummed it like cats will do. No big reactions to note.
I may have been a little dramatic. I only find the toothpicks to be a FAIL if someone was to actually use them. As a novelty or gag gift, they are EXCELLENT! And once I officially air out the tin they came in, I will use it as storage for something.
