My name is Lauren (alias: Elle) and I currently live in Altamonte Springs, Florida with my husband and Bacon Buddy, Ric. I grew up in Florida, moved to California for a bit and now back in the Central Florida area.
We have 4 cats – Baby, Buster, Emmi, and Peggy Sue (Baby Girl) – and a ferret named Veronica (aka Ronnie) (we had to say good-bye to Veronica 12/26/11, we will always miss her). I love our animals. I am mostly a cat and ferret person. I have worked in the animal health field for several years. I am a veterinary technician/inventory gal. I love the veterinary field and find it amazingly interesting and learn something new every day.
My interests include comics, music, movies, and occasionally playing online poker. I love going to museums, zoos, and going on hikes but don’t go often. And I could never get tired of good sushi or a good beer.
BABY:
The oldest and grumpy as hell, has the loudest purr box, has an addiction to cat nip, and will lightly sniff every part of your face with her wet nose. She is the mother of Buster and Baby Girl.
She has been in Chronic Renal Failure since November 2012. Also diagnosed with Hypertension in April 2014. She has never really shown signs of being sick and both illnesses were simply discovered by annual diagnostics. She has been stable with her kidney levels the whole time with simple subcutaneous fluids and OTC medications. Her blood pressure is stable with medication. She is our miracle cat!

BUSTER:
BUSTER – He is very laid back, spends most of his time passed out on the bed, loves to destroy toilet paper and paper towels, has a major addiction for cat treats, and looks out for all his ladies – including sitting with his mom (Baby) every time she gets her fluids and purrs for her.
Buster does have Geriatric Vestibular Syndrome but only shows signs of nystagmus, vocalization, and sometimes brief episodes of disorientation. He also has a lipoma on his right side that we sometimes refer to as his “side cushion”.
Alias: Teddy Bear, Teddy Ruxpin, Dr BEARington, SIR Boo-kins, Sheriff Boo-Boo, Lumpy, Googly Eyes, Buster Brown (my grandma called him this), Buster Baxter.

EMMI:
The ‘troll cat’, she loves to play, drools when given cat nip, makes muffins with her ears back, and has only a few teeth. She is an anti-social cat and does not hang out with the other cats as often.
When she was adopted from a clinic I use to work at, she was already missing many of her teeth. Due to severe gum disease, and after many extractions, she currently has 2 teeth left. She still eats her dry food, even though we offer canned food too.

PEGGY SUE / BABY GIRL:
Has the biggest eyes, is a BIG girl with a screechy but petit mew, loves her feet rubbed and prefers quiet time.
Peggy has Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease. She has a history of bladder stones and crystals in her urine. She even had a feeding tube placed for a couple months while dealing with a severe case of bladder stones. She is doing great now that she is on a canned food diet and received prescription treats and glucosamine supplements. She’s had it rough… but she’s tougher.

VERONICA:
Was a spunky little lady, made the cutest noises when jumping around during play, and would put herself up in her 4-story cage when she was done playing. She loved her NutriCal, which we called ‘ferret crack’. She suffered from Adrenal Gland Disease.

WISH I COULD DO:

* Live in a building with an old-fashioned elevator
* Eat at Murray Bros Caddy Shack on my birthday (It would be funny -or fan obsessed- because I share a B-Day with Bill Murray)
