Bacon-Wrapped Dates

* Blue Diamond Whole Natural Almonds

* Sunsweet Pitted Dates

* 1 pkg of bacon
– I chose Oscar Mayer Naturally Hardwood Smoked Bacon

The first step is to PREP your ingredients and preheat your oven to 375.

Blanch your almonds. It’s pretty simple. Boil your almonds until the skins begin to come off.

Rinse with cold water.

Pull off remaining skins. Set aside.

PREP your bacon. Cut slices into thirds. You don’t need ling slices unless your are using very thin bacon slices that can overlap yet cook evenly.

Set aside.

Gather all of your ingredients for assembly.

It’s pretty easy.

Place one almond into each pitted date.

Wrap each date with a bacon slice.

Make sure to have the two end pieces overlap on the bottom of the date when placing it onto a baking sheet.

** Note: If you are concerned your bacon will not stick together, you can use a toothpick to hold it together.

Cook your bacon-wrapped dates for at least 15-20 minutes.

Cook time may vary depending on the thickness of the bacon you use or your preference in crispiness of the bacon.

* You have many opportunities to make adjustments to this recipe. You can chose to use any flavor of bacon, different dried stone fruit, or even different type of nut.

* You could easily add a yummy dipping to make this an even sweeter snack. I would recommend a orange-honey based dip for this recipe.

* I am open to any suggestions or ideas on how to improve this recipe.
