Bacon Infused Vodka

* This recipe takes 6-12 hours.

INGREDIENTS:

* bottle of vodka
* fully cooked bacon strips

STEP 1:
You will have to pour some vodka out to make room for the bacon you will be putting in. Pour out about 2-3 shots of vodka.

STEP 2:
Break apart your bacon strips and place in vodka bottle. Put in enough that you fill up about 1/4 of the bottle.

STEP 3:
Tighten cap bacon on and set bottle aside for most of the day. Best if left to sit at least 6 hours.

STEP 4:
FILTER time!

Make sure you filter the bacon vodka at least 2-3 times. We used a tea strainer and paper towels. We got the vodka pretty clear of the big amounts of bacon fat using this method. (Thanks Jimmy!)

If you reuse the vodka bottle to store the vodka, make sure to rinse in out with regular dish soap the breaks up grease and rinse well.

NOTES ON THE RECIPE:

* You have many opportunities to make adjustments to this recipe. You can chose to use any flavor of bacon (I recommend just regular bacon) and any type of vodka (maybe even one of the flavored ones).

* This was my first attempt at this recipe and I am open to any suggestions or ideas on how to improve it.
